Due to the serious global Coronavirus pandemic and in line with the difficult decisions taken by many national and international visitor attractions, Kylemore Abbey will remain closed indefinitely.

At this stage (March 30, 2020) Kylemore Trust cannot confirm a date for re-opening of Kylemore Abbey & Gardens – and like many organizations cannot plan with certainty for large gatherings in the coming months.  Sadly, this means that planning for Reunion events at Kylemore for June 2020 is not possible.

The Benedictine community is deeply disappointed at the postponement of this event - sharing the sadness of hundreds of past pupils who had planned to attend and the organizers who have worked so hard to make the Reunion a reality, and in particular Sharon Molloy, who has worked tirelessly in leading the Reunion plans.

However, in the interest of clarity and in order to allow those who planned to Connemara to revise their plans, we need to share this unfortunate news in a timely manner.  With the help of Sharon, past pupils and Kylemore staff we hope that the Reunion will take place in June 2021.

The Kylemore Trust & the Benedictine nuns are committed to making the Kylemore Abbey School Reunion in 2021 a very special occasion for all alumnae. The nuns look forward to welcoming alumnae back to Kylemore and hosting a happy and memorable celebration, free from the shadow of Coronavirus and the personal pain which it will entail for so many friends, alumnae and staff.

The prayers of the Benedictine community are offered daily for all those being affected by this global tragedy – especially the alumnae and staff of Kylemore Abbey. PAX.
