Kylemore Abbey Performances
The neo-Gothic Church at Kylemore Abbey provides the perfect location for choral and musical performances. Musicians and choirs from all over the world cherish the opportunity to perform beneath the vaulted ceilings of Italian sandstone which create such beautiful clear acoustics. Built as a memorial to Mitchell Henry‘s wife, Margaret, the Gothic Church has a very special atmosphere, one that is both spiritual and nostalgic. Each season we have a diverse list of choirs from all walks of life, giving informal lunch time performances which are included in the price of your entry ticket to the Kylemore Estate. In addition to our visiting choirs we also welcome occasional performances throughout the year which we will post on this page as dates and times are confirmed. Past performances have included, internationally known names such as Julie Feeney (who recorded her hit album ‘Clocks’ here) ,the popular folk trio ‘The Whileaways, a Japanese Okinawa choir, Irish Harpist , Lynn Saoirse and local musicians such as Eileen Keane and Frank Coyne .
