Led by the Benedictine nuns, Kylemore Trust* is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to support the Benedictine monastic way of life and preserve the heritage and natural beauty of the Kylemore Abbey estate.
The Trust generates funds for its mission from charitable donations and philanthropy and through income from tourism & other activities. All funds are used to support the mission of this non-profit organisation. The Trust and its associated company employs 120 staff, and contributes to the economic, cultural, social and spiritual life of Connemara and the West of Ireland.
Current funding priorities for Kylemore Trust are:
Construction of a new Monastery as a home to the growing Benedictine monastic community
Programme of conservation and restoration of the Estate’s Gothic Revival Church and the Victorian Walled Gardens
Developing a Spiritual Education Centre and Guest House for visitors as part of the new Monastery
Endowment funds to support the ongoing Estate development and Benedictine Community costs
