For a third year, Kylemore Abbey will be celebrating World Heart Day on September 29th with a series of features across the estate to encourage staff and visitors to "Use Heart to Connect".

This year, Head Chef John O'Toole will be making a number of heart healthy options certified by Croí Nutrionist's, Mitchell's café will also be hosting a coffee morning in aid of Croí. All money raised all day from teas and coffees will be donated to the wonderful charity, Croí, who do incredible work in raising awareness and supporting the prevention of heart disease and stroke in the West of Ireland.

A guided nature walk, to the Sacred Heart Statue (if weather permits), will showcase the beautiful views, flora, and fauna all around Kylemore and will encourage you to get out, explore, and find the same beauty where you are. Inez Streefkerk, Kylemore's Woodland Specialist. The walk will be shared on Facebook later that day.

For two nights, Kylemore abbey will be lit red to acknowledge the wonderful work of Croí and to raise awareness about the importance of heart health.

We hope you can all join us in person or virtually for World Heart Day 2021.
