Gospel Reflection for the Fourth Sunday of Lent, Year B.

Let my tongue be silenced, if I ever forget you. (Psalm 136)

Today's Gospel gives us a famous passage from St John which is at the same time sublime theology, poetry and truth.  Many years after Jesus' death and living in a community of believers, John pours out his love and devotion to his divine Master, Jesus Christ in his Gospel.. We can happily join this community when we listen to this passage. What will help us greatly is to get to know and love the same Jesus that John loved by the many means now available: books, commentaries, television, podcasts and above all by prayer. As the world grows darker and more dangerous and certainly more sinful we have an unfailing source of grace through prayer, the sacrifice of the Mass and sacraments. Jesus, only Son of the Father, pray for us...
