  • The Neo-Gothic Church (undergoing repairs but still open for visitors)

A visit to Kylemore Abbey is a wonderful experience. The refurbished Abbey with its visitor centre is imposing and intimate at the same time. Beautifully done, and very interesting. The small gothic church is as intricate as a mini cathedral, and the gardens are magnificent, and everywhere the views are stunning. With a gift and coffee shop, (and a restaurant in better times), we happily spent the best part of the day there, and loved every minute.

Kylemore Abbey is well worth visiting. The Abbey is in a stunning location perched over the lake which reflects the castle. The walled gardens are a must. Created without a care for a budget and it shows. The glass houses which were built originally must have been a sight to behold with all the exotic fruits and flowers.
