What We're Protecting

The Kylemore Estate contains a rich network of interconnected habitats that support wildlife across Connemara. Through conservation, habitat restoration and monitoring, we are committed to protecting these ecosystems for future generations.
Our native woodlands provide important habitats for birds, mammals, mosses, lichens, and countless other species. These ecosystems form a vital part of the estate's biodiversity and natural heritage.

The rivers, lakes, and wetlands of Kylemore support a wide range of freshwater habitats and species and play a key role in maintaining ecosystem health.
Bees, butterflies and other pollinators are essential to healthy ecosystems. Through habitat creation and pollinator-friendly planting, we help support these important species.
Kylemore Estate supports a rich variety of wildlife including birds, bats, mammals and invertebrates that contribute to the unique biodiversity of Connemara.
