May the Lord bless us
all the days of our lives. (Psalm 127)

In the world of today, so disjointed and fragmented and now boiling with the hatred of war we are reminded that some institutions are sacred. Marriage is one such institution, having the divine imprimatur:  Jesus' first miracle was worked at the wedding feast of Cana to set His seal on this life-giving union. What God has united, man must not divide.
In marriage, as in any serious life commitment, growing in our relationship with God, His living presence is the strength, the inspiration, the endurance, and love needed to bind a man and a woman in marriage. And, I hasten to add, men and women in any community of consecrated life.
Before, during and after any decision we make, woe betide us if we do not pray for the guidance of the One who loves us so dearly. Our future and eternal happiness depends on it.
